Applications Now Open: Artist in Residence Program

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is excited to launch a new three-year Artist in Residence Program at the Goldfields Arts Centre, starting in 2025! This initiative is dedicated to fostering a vibrant arts community, promoting cultural enrichment, and contributing to local economic growth.
Funded by the Department of Local Government, Sport, and Cultural Industries, the residency program is open to all Western Australian artists. We invite you to apply and take part in this unique opportunity to create, connect, and inspire.
The Artist in Residence program offers selected local artists a six-week residency and visiting artists a four-week residency to engage in education, reflection, cultural exchange, and artistic development. During their residency, artists will have the opportunity to create new works in a dedicated onsite studio and lead public workshops, sharing their expertise with the community.
Artists will be provided with a studio space, art supplies, and for visiting artists - living costs. This support allows them to fully focus on their craft in the unique setting of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
These residencies will complement the Goldfields Arts Centre’s exhibition programs, stimulating interest in visual arts and crafts in the region while offering valuable skills development for local artists, art lovers, and visitors.
The dates of each artist in residency will be confirmed during the selection process. The residency program will be open until 2027.
