Calling all young artists! The Junior Art Prize is back, and this year’s theme is My Dream Toy. 

Open to creative minds aged 4 to 12, this Art Prize invites kids to imagine and bring to life the toy of their dreams.
From magical inventions and futuristic gadgets to cuddly companions and playful creations, artists are encouraged to dream big and bring their ultimate toy to life.
Entries can be created in any medium on the Goldfields Arts Centre frame paper, giving young creatives the freedom to draw, paint, build, sculpt, collage or experiment in whatever way best expresses their idea.
Celebrating the creativity of young artists in our community, winners will be selected across different age categories and announced at the awards afternoon.
We can’t wait to see your dream toys you create!


IMPORTANT DATES
Registrations open: Tuesday 3 March 
Registrations close: Friday 15 May | 3pm
Awards afternoon: Saturday 23 May | time TBC
Exhibition: Monday 25 May - Saturday 27 June | weekdays 10am - 5pm & Saturdays 10am - 1pm (excluding Sundays and Public Holidays)
Artwork collection: Monday 29 June - Saturday 4 July | weekdays 10am - 5pm & Saturday 10am - 1pm


REGISTRATION
To be eligible to enter you must live in Kalgoorlie or surrounding areas (100km), please submit the registration form, artist statement tile and completed art work with artist name on back together to one of the following drop off locations before Friday 15 May, 3pm.

ARTWORK CATEGORIES
First, second and third prizes will be awarded in three age groups:
4- 6 years
7-9 years
10-12 years
Entries will be judged according to the following criteria: The relevance of the submitted artwork to the theme, artistic interpretation of the theme and the originality of the submission.


ARTWORK PICK UP AND DROP OFF
All artwork submitted into the Junior Art Prize must be completed on an A3 frame paper supplied by the Goldfields Arts Centre. You can pick up and drop off your artwork at the following location points around town:
